The Winter Blues Bash is coming to MCSC! Friday, February 9th, doors will open at 6:00 PM with the event starting at 6:30 PM! We can’t wait to see you there for music, dancing, refreshments, a silent auction, and more!
Gorge Tax Aide 2024 is happening soon! Get your appointment now before there are no more spots left!
How anyone can make an appointment:
- Open the booking page by clicking the following link: https://gorgetaxaide.simplybook.me
- Click on the blue “Book Now” button.
- Click on the blue “Select” button for the location of your choice
- Enter Tax Filer’s Name(s) followed by caregiver name if there is one, *email address & phone number.
- Select “Confirm Booking”
- The client will get an email regarding their appointment, the email will provide a link to the appointment where they can cancel or reschedule if necessary.
A client may not book multiple appointments unless they have additional tax years to file (each tax filing requires its own appointment). Each appointment is for one tax filing. The name on the appointment should be the tax filer’s name. A client may not book duplicate appointments on the schedule. Appointments are monitored & multiple bookings are reviewed.
If the schedule is full the client/scheduler will see a notification and may schedule for a wait list. The Wait List is monitored by the site coordinator and clients should have tax paperwork ready to go as they may get a call to arrive within a short amount of time.
How the Wait List Works
The Waiting List is activated when an entire day is fully booked and isn’t dependent on individual time slots.
When a time slot becomes available all the clients who have applied for this date’s waiting list receive an email notification and the one who is the first will be able to occupy the spot.
The client can have only one active waiting list booking for the specific service and provider for the specific date.
The clients can see their own waiting list appointments in the specific tab on the booking website and can also cancel them there if they wish to.
Our statewide network of SHIBA certified counselors is ready to answer your Medicare questions throughout year and especially during the Medicare Open Enrollment period, which runs from October 15 through December 7.
Medicare Open Enrollment is a great opportunity to check your benefits if you have a Medicare Advantage or Medicare Prescription Drug Plan. It’s an opportunity for you to change providers or plans without any additional fees … and maybe save yourself some money!
Medicare can be a confusing subject. That’s why we at the Mid-Columbia Senior Center sponsor a branch of SHIBA (Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance).
SHIBA counselors are Oregon’s free, non-biased Medicare advisory volunteers. They are not associated with any particular type of insurance and do not give recommendations—just information. If you have any questions about your Medicare, you can get in contact with our local SHIBA counselors and talk either over the phone, via email, or in person.
We can also help you with suspected Medicare-related fraud.
Our SHIBA counselors at the MCSC serve Hood River, Gilliam, Sherman, Wasco, and Wheeler Counties.
Help spread the word by sharing this with your friends and family! For more information visit: SHIBA.oregon.gov or call 800-722-4134 (toll-free). SHIBA services are free and confidential.
